Have you heard of "Geocaching?" It is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. After reading about this in grade 4, students used their "orienteering" skills and guidance from their teacher to find a hidden treasure on school property. Cleverly devised by her sons, Mrs. Barber hid the container and gave clues and coordinates for them to locate the box. Inside was a treat of pencils and sharpeners for each of them to keep and use in the classroom.
